Just like the dog on our hard laminate, the mouse runs around on the surface making a lot of noise and not calming down at all. , Explanation: This mouse pad has a hard surface, not the usual cloth surface. As you move the mouse over a surface, its feet make a noise - not much, but in my very quiet environment it's noticeable and almost as distracting as chalk on a blackboard. (But who remembers blackboards anyway?) Also, because the surface is slightly reflective, the mouse pointer seems to move across the screen faster than expected. This is easily solved by disabling mouse sensitivity in Windows settings. I gave up and bought a cloth top rug. I'm sure I'll need to replace the cloth face rubber more often than the hard rubber, but I'll live with that.
