Review on StandArt Edition Gabriel-Glas - Set of 2 Austrian Crystal Wine Glasses by Robert Aiono

My wife and I love wine but we don't usually drink bottles over $15. Wouldn't these glasses be superfluous? Will they make a noticeable difference? True, even with modest wine from these glasses I have much more joy. The improvement in taste is obvious. What I liked, which I wasn't expecting, was the excellent balance of the glass when held by the stem. It's a pleasure to keep. Wirecutter (NY Times) rated it an "upgrade choice" for people who regularly spend more than $20 a bottle. I personally think they're worth it for anyone who can afford a $30 glass. It improves everything. I have just bought a second pair so we can share these wonderful glasses with our guests. The manufacturer recommends washing in the dishwasher and so far they have come out perfect every time.
