A two piece would be better.
I'm 5'5, 190lbs, I bought XL and it fits well. It would be perfect if the shirt wasn't so attached to the shorts - the shorts of the jumpsuit are pulled up at the top as you walk, the shorts go up and the extra fabric goes down to help with the fullness. and hides the fact that you eat haha shorts. I can see that someone who doesn't want extra coverage would have preferred just shorts, but I was grateful for the extra fabric. It's not the most comfortable outfit as the shorts are pulled up but other than that it was very cute and I'll be wearing it again for a beach vacation this summer.
