Works well, pay attention to the setting.

Used when replacing the head unit in a 2006 VW Jetta. Proprietary German wiring requires adapters for compatibility with non-genuine parts. The cable colors match the new head unit perfectly. Pay particular attention to the adapter initialization instructions. I had some problems after installation as I didn't follow them properly. This resulted in the radio having no power the next morning. Disconnected battery for 30 seconds and everything worked again but it continued to be intermittent and I had to go through the radio setup menu over and over again. Contacted support and they were great. Here is their email: techsupport@metra-autosound.com Note copied from an email they sent me: I would start the whole process over by putting the factory radio back in place, closing all entry points and the car start. Then turn off the radio, remove the key completely from the ignition switch, open and close the driver's door. Remove the radio, install the XSVI and secondary radio, turn the ignition key for thirty seconds, remove the key completely, and open and close the driver's door. Start the car and check again and then report the results. It may also be a good idea to check all connections and wiring harnesses for slight looseness. Sounds like you just broke down in your car. Advice followed (shouldn't have been so impatient!) and everything works perfectly. I recommend.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Very expensive
