I bought this to replace another product that is frying my new slices after 24 hours. So far, so good. However, I have a few complaints. First, the main reason I got this was because the packaging says "Individual Circuit Breakers on Disk". I was expecting each drive to have a power button so I could turn it off and on as needed, e.g. B. when replacing. That's not the case. The single power button is actually one of those DIP switches on the back that have to be moved with a tiny screwdriver. It's more of a Bay 1-4 disable feature than a power on. I don't understand why you need to disable the tray at all. Second, the hot-swap capabilities are poor. I'm using a Mac and when you eject the drive in the operating system it runs correctly. However, if you eject that drive, the device unmounts ALL drives, resulting in a false eject error for the other three attached devices. So to remove a drive, you must remove ALL four drives to protect your data. . It's a bummer, but to be honest, that's what I've seen in most multi-drive external cases. Third, the power button is programmable, which means that if there is a power outage, the device will not turn back on. You have to restart it. Again, I chose this brand over the more popular ones because this brand also has this terrible trait. So, all things considered, I paid $30 more because I expected more. What I got in return is a device similar in specs to Mediasonic except that it's uglier but potentially more durable. The time will show.
