Review on [2 Pack] High-Power DC-DC Buck Converter with LED Display - Step-Down Voltage Regulator 4-38V to 1.25-36V - 5A Module by Francisco Taylor

I have some old laptop chargers lying around. Depending on the brand and model, these are all possible DC output voltages (18.5, 19.5, 20, etc.). However, most electronic devices these days run on either 12 or 5 volts. These little guys helped me convert them into good power supplies for my projects. I use them for situations where I'm developing/experimenting. Once I'm happy with my project, I replace them with cheaper alternatives (ones without a display). However, one of the two had a strange problem (which I was eventually able to fix). It just wouldn't change the output voltage no matter how much I turned the setting. After scratching my head for a while (kinda making sure it wasn't a DOA :) I noticed that the pins of the components under the board weren't clipped and some of them were too long. One set was bent just enough to short one of the components. Luckily nothing was permanently damaged and when I straightened the pins (and cut them off) it came to life. A little quality control would probably be a better idea but overall happy with the product. I haven't tested its performance at maximum currents yet.
