Review on πŸ’™ L'Oreal Paris Colorista Semi-Permanent Midnight Blue Hair Color for Brunettes by Jessica Payne

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Don't be afraid to try dark brown hair!

My natural color is dark brown, almost the same shade as on the packaging which they do not recommend. I just wanted a hint of color and wasn't expecting super bright results as my hair is so dark so I was very happy with the result. The color is really pretty indoors and out, mostly black and blue, but still very flattering. I also left it on for 90 minutes before rinsing it off to make sure the color showed through, which is probably why it's so dark. Just remember that any type of blue will stain, no matter how inconsistent. My tub turned blue from washing off the paint so I used Bar-Keepers Friend and it came off right away. The underside of my nails also turns a little blue when I tie my hair, but that might be because I have a few blemishes on my scalp. This dye doesn't wash out completely the first time because it's semi-permanent, but it does. So the first time, rinse as best you can until the water is very light blue and call it good. Use a dark colored towel to dry your hair every time you wash it as the blue will fade when wet. When the hair is dry there will be no color left unless you rub the hair as if tying it in a bun. All in all I'm very happy with it and it looks like I imagined it would. Try tangerine for a bright red hue!
