VTEC (which stands for Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) is an electronic and mechanical system in some Hon-da engines that allows the engine to effectively have multiple camshafts. As the engine moves into different rpm ranges, the engine's computer can activate alternate lobes on the camshaft and change the cam's timing. In this way, the engine gets the best features of low-speed and high-speed camshafts in the same engine. Common symptoms of a seized VTEC solenoid spool valve: Very poor idle at low RPM which clears up at high RPM, CEL P2647, VSA System Malfunction Message, Emissions System Malfunction Message, Engine Whine at idle (due to VTEC being engaged at all times).

Failed Item for Gaskets

The product arrived defective. Didn't work after installation. Had to shut down and buy back from RockAuto which fixed the VTT issue on my 2005 Honda Odyssey. Cannot recommend this Made in China item. Not worth the low price.

Pros
  • Common Symptoms of Stuck VTEC Solenoid Valve: Very poor idle RPM at low RPM that goes away at high RPM, CEL P2647, VSA System Malfunction Message, Emission System Malfunction Message, Engine hum at idle (due to the fact that VTEC is constantly busy ist)

Great prices and product. A+

I ordered this for my 2007 Honda Odyssey Touring Van. He gave me vvt codes. I changed this to match codes and it's been a few weeks now and still works great. It was easy to switch and only took about 45 minutes to install.

Pros
  • OEM reference: 15810-RKB-J01. Please check the part number on your old case before purchasing. Only the part number is a unique identifier.

Error code fixed and oil leak stopped.

Fast delivery, easy fit and cleared my engine code. My previous part had 200,000 miles and the screen was clogged. Not only did it give trouble codes for low oil pressure, it also caused an oil leak. This fixed it. For only $100 and about 30 minutes of work.

Pros
  • Application Vehicle: 2006 Hon-da Odyssey V6 3.5L (3471cc), EXL Sub Model Cylinder Head; 2006 Hon-da Odyssey V6 3.5L (3471cc), EX-L Sub Model Cylinder Head; 2006 Honda Pilot FWD, V6 3.5L (3471cc) Cylinder Head; 2005 Honda Accord V6 3.0L (2997cc), ELECTRIC/GAS Cylinder Head; 2005 Hon-da Odyssey V6 3.5L (3471cc), EXL Sub Model Cylinder Head; 2005 Hon-da Odyssey V6 3.5L (3471cc), EX-L Sub Model Cylinder Head
