So far so good except one got stuck in my vacuum so I had to disassemble it to get it off. It does the job. You get what you pay for. Plastic is cheap, but so is the price.

The 1 3/8 end is the outside diameter so it will fit the hose barb. It should be 1 3/8 the inside to allow that hose end can slide in.

I bought a small Eureka canister vacuum but didn't want to use it just for carpet/floor cleaning on hardwood floors. I tried to attach my old wooden floor nozzle but it didn't fit; until I bought this wonderful hose adapter. Works great!

I have a great Shark cordless vacuum cleaner. I still have a lot of old nozzles from previous vacuum cleaners. The shark is 1 3/8" and all my old baits are 1 1/4". This inexpensive adapter works great and allows me to use all the old attachments I've accumulated over the years. Now you don't have to buy expensive nozzles.

I've tried other adapters that don't fit but this one works and allows me to connect my existing Dyson attachments to my new Shark. I've had a lot of useful Dyson attachments that I thought I'd just throw away, but now they fit my new Shark vacuum hose perfectly. The small price is worth it to save hundreds of dollars on Dyson nozzles.

I bought this adapter to use my old dust attachments with a Miele cylinder vacuum. The dusting brush supplied with Miele is very small and doesn't have the softest bristles. This adapter fits like a glove and allows me to use the soft horsehair dusting brushes I've bought in the past to use with the Eureka container vacuum. The adapter seems solid so I don't expect it to ever break with this type of use.

I bought the Shark P50 cordless vacuum. This is a rack and a canister. I bought this adapter (1 3/8 - 1 1/4) to be able to use my accessories with this vacuum cleaner. It decreases on one side and increases on the other because the tube and floor nozzle have the same diameter. Voila! I have the perfect figure. See two photos; The second picture shows the adapter before installation. Now I can throw away the adapter I made from two sizes of PVC pipe and tape.

(as of 11/28/2019) This adapter fits the components of my Fein Turbo II that came with attachments. Specifically, this adapter fits the end of tool adapter hose, elbow end of hose or pipes. It fits snugly onto the rubber end of the tool adapter. In my original review I didn't think it would fit the tool adapter. It fits, you just have to press hard and twist.
