Great cheap laundry detergent

Bought these to try as a laundry detergent. My husband likes them better than my homemade laundry detergent. There were two muslin bags included. I used it for my HE washing machine. The poorly written instructions were clear enough that you simply put 4-6 nuts in a bag and soak them in a small container of water for about 10 minutes before throwing it all in the washing machine. Apparently a set of 4-6 nuts is enough for about 4 loads of laundry. I would recommend tying the strings with a…

Great but choose whole berries

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it was chunks and not whole berries. After using them a few times in the laundry, the pieces got even smaller and slipped out of my pocket, ending up in little bits of berries on my clothes. Some came loose during drying, but then the dryer clogged with shrapnel. I just had to keep the lint tray and area clean. These soap berries did a good job cleaning my clothes, I pre-treated all the tough spots or they wouldn't go away. They don't smell or leave…

All Natural Replacement for Commercial Laundry Detergent

I love that Soapberries have been able to replace all of the commercial cleaners in my home. I use them in the dishwasher and laundry. I love washing them with powdered hydrogen peroxide against stains. I used to make my own laundry detergent using Fels Naptha, Borax, washing soda, and baking soda. But I wanted something biodegradable and easier to use. I don't like them for use in the dishwasher. I've tried powdering them, as well as whole berries in a bag in the dishwasher. I add baking soda,

Absolutely fantastic!

Definitely a regular customer. I've been washing almost every day for 2 months and I haven't left a dent on the box. It doesn't smell, that's exactly what I wanted. With essential oils I can customize any scent I want. Perfect for my big dirty family. ❤️

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • There are even more interesting options.

Not so foamy good for soap

I make my own soapberry shampoo and this batch wasn't as good as others I've gotten from other places. Also, the box was completely destroyed in transit, leaving them loose in the shipping envelope, which allowed them to take on a weird smell (which went away when I cooked them). However, they lack natural saponins, the compound that creates lather. Strange.

These work great! in Body

I used to use soapberries so I got used to the product. My previous experience with soapberries was with a strain from India. I didn't even know there was more than one variety until I looked to see if I could buy my soapberries through Revain. These soapberries from China are darker than my previous ones and feel a little (fairly) stickier which to me indicates they may have more soap than others. However, I cannot verify this. They work just as well as the ones I'm used to. They don't smell…

Super soap berries for a clean, safe and non-toxic home.

After trying several brands this is the best soapberry I have ever used. They are much darker in color. The liquid concentration is stronger. After filtering, I add more water to the berries used and get more liquid. Of course you'll have to use more in a wash on the second batch, but it works just as well. I use 4 cups of berries for 14 cups of water. Cook for 2 hours. Cool, strain and pour into glasses. Cooling down. it is stored for 1 month, and even longer if citric acid is added to the…

Low suds, leaves a tint

I bought these as a budget soap nuts at $10/#. I had no idea 3# would last forever. One brand of diapers I bought has a warranty that only recognizes 'approved' laundry, so I bought it to keep the warranty. I have never used any other soap nuts and have no plans to buy them again. I usually use a concentrated liquid detergent that contains next to nothing, but it didn't make the approved diaper cover list. I've used these soap nuts primarily for washing cloth diapers and they do an adequate job
