7.5 Amp 2-Inch Hammer Drill with Cord Review

I had to drill 10 holes in 4" thick concrete and install 3/4" steel anchors. I bought a good quality carbide hole saw and this Skil rock drill bit to get the job done. I found it a little strange when I started drilling the first hole, there were a lot of sparks inside the bit body. I drilled the holes and installed the anchors one at a time to give myself a break from drilling and let the drill cool down a bit between holes. I put some pressure on the drill when it hit, but it didn't get stuck

For the price I was expecting poor build quality suitable for drilling light work in masonry. But I was pleasantly surprised. The gear cap and depth gauge were metal, although I expected plastic. The drill cable has a built in drill chuck holder, an unexpected organizational feature. The handle now has raised plastic squares that fit into metal slots on the drill to hold it in the user-selected position. I was very surprised at the quality of this rotary hammer. I was expecting it to be cheap, but that would be fine because I only had to drill four holes in the garage floor to install the tire changer. I drilled four holes that were 1/2" in diameter and about 2" deep and they were all perfect in under a minute. This hammer drill has a lot of power. However, I used a new Dewalt impact drill, which does not come with this drill. I see complaints about the bits that come out of it, but you can't…
