Very good silicone heating pad for car use

Use this pad to heat the oil pan of a truck (Ford 6.4L V8) in a night frost. I cleaned the oil pan and the glue stuck well. would probably have burned out if the heat hadn't been redirected to something big. Not sure if there is built in thermal protection. Set a timer for 60 minutes before I head out on these cold mornings. It is also available in a 60 watt version. Let's see how long it lasts. So far very satisfied.

Cons
  • Some problems

Doesn't stick or press, not for small engines.

I bought this to attach to my snow thrower but even after cleaning the side of the motor I can't stick it to it. A small motor does not have a flat surface and is only slightly flexible. You can't just stick it on the only clean surface because it's slightly concave so it won't stick. Also, there's no real way to attach this thing to the motor while the silicone dries. You need to wrap the silicone around the edges. For now I glued it on by attaching a carpenter's pencil and some folded…

  • A few small things

Gives off a lot of heat.

I purchased this product to heat the oil pan in a generator installed in a steel cabinet near my home here in the North East where temperatures are often in the teens and sometimes colder are. It leaves a lot of warmth! I want this product to last many seasons so it's too early to comment on that. The adhesive on one side of the pad didn't stick well to the metal mount I placed it on, so I reinforced it with epoxy and some metal rods and galvanized wire to keep it from falling off. Again, time…

Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Didn't live up to expectations.

So I booted up my car in preparation for the install. This one was already under 0. I prewired and removed the liner for the adhesive backing. He didn't stick. I couldn't tell if the glue made it insignificant because of the cold (you didn't feel any stickiness) or if it wasn't there at all. I applied a high temp silicone gasket to the gasket (as I've heard you still need it for reinforcement). The silicone gasket worked when installing the gasket to the oil pan. I plugged the heating pad into…

3 stars why?: Body

I only give 3 stars because I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet. Why am I leaving a review for this? Just because I was asked. Although Revain has several different pan warmers, I bought these based on the reviews. Not all of them were positive but they had a higher percentage of positive reviews and I took into account the fact that this particular one is 150w? First, there is no need to grind your pan down to bare metal. If it's a little rough, sand it until smooth, then clean with…

Cons
  • Doesn't fit everything

A few weeks ago I noticed a gumming on the wires.

Purchased 4" x 5" 150W OPF on 25th January 2019. I installed this heater last week. Installing this heater took about an hour and a half as I had to drive the front of my 4x4 up ramps to give me the handroom I needed to grind the front end of the oil pan to metal to install this. Heating. Also to run a cable along the mounting frame to my truck's front grill so I can use a 12 gauge 15 foot extension cable when my truck was parked outside. I decided to install this heater a few nights ago which…
