WORKS ON MY 2006 CHEVY COLORADO 3.5L

I installed this thermostat on my 2006 Chevy Colorado 3.5L to fix the horrible old code P0128. When I started the engine to check for leaks, the temp gauge rose to the 1/2 mark, which worried me a bit because the original never went past the 1/4 mark. I spoke to a knowledgeable Colorado enthusiast and he informed me that the new GM thermostats run a little hotter than the factory thermostats. Presumably this is GM's answer to increasing gas mileage and emissions in I-5 engines. I have no idea…

Great price and quality OEM

for my 2004 Colorado. My truck used to run just above the 1/4 mark on the temp gauge, but with this thermostat it's now closer to midpoint, indicating an upgrade they made to them to get them up to 195 degrees instead of like before. 180. I received a P0128 code, so my original thermostat was stuck open. To replace, loosen the lug nuts on the wheel on the driver's side, jack up the truck on the driver's side, place a jack under the frame rail for safety, remove the wheel and the wheel guard…

Factory thermostat (ACDelco made in Mexico), great price, easy repair.

As per Sparky's review, I bought this thermostat for my 2005 Colorado (4 cylinder) which seemed to have a low coolant temperature during normal operation. The thermostat was original and the truck has about 160,000 miles on the clock and the heater seems to take a long time to warm up in winter. Sometimes I would get error PO128 (Coolant taking too long to heat up) and the coolant temp would fluctuate around 160-170 F at the 1/4 mark on the temp gauge (I leave the scan gauge plugged in).
