Looks solid but the finish isn't perfect. I had to use a file in one of the corners to fit in the tight space where it was supposed to be.

Genuine GM Part. The OEM factory plastic thermostat has been replaced. Didn't quite fit. There were two options. Remove the case from the block, install the thermostat, then reassemble or grind down a corner of the metal thermostat to match the profile of the plastic thermostat and clean the block. 2 minutes with a grinder. worked great.

This is an OEM part. I solved the problem with the thermostat after using the aftermarket which I have to return as the check engine light with the code thermostat came back on immediately after 10 days of use. A bit pricey but I went this route to avoid this car's overheating problem which is a common problem on this model due to thermostat failures as I've read all over the internet.
