Does not fill filter cavity

Paper filters are larger. This filter allows air to pass to the sides without filtering. I can't say it's any better than the 3M filters I usually use. Twice I have returned to paper filters due to allergy attacks. But I also had a fit using the paper filter so I'm a bit disappointed but will continue to use it. I plan to place some filter material in front of it, hoping to fill the small gap on the sides and maybe catch more dust.

Pros
  • Electroplated frame with durable and attractive finish
Cons
  • Available in white only

Much better design as four pieces of aluminum are wrapped around the filter on the outside of the filter and each piece of aluminum is held together with a separate…

Pros
  • 5 layers of filter with 3rd party certification
Cons
  • Requires an electrical outlet

I hope we say goodbye to pleated filters!

Based on a recent HVAC cleaning recommendation a few weeks ago I decided to try my first electrostatic filter (instead of the 3M MPR 1900 we had just recently been using) . Seems to be working well so far! Whilst the true performance of a good filter usually becomes apparent after around the first month and at this point how it compares to a replacement pleated filter is still debatable, it seems to hold a similar point in terms of tolerable dust levels up to that point . . My only downside…

Pros
  • Keeps 88% of airborne dust and allergens
Cons
