Ali Industries 6055 Scythe Sharpening Stone Review

The first one came broken but was quickly replaced. Thanks very much! I don't understand why a sharpening stone should be roughly textured like a wood rasp. It's too thin so I can't pick it up and use it. So he will never touch my braid until I find someone who can show me why it's cut the way it is and how to use it safely.

This is a very coarse, loose and brittle stone with no base or handle. Mine arrived broken in two pieces. It is too fragile to be carried around and used in the field as is. I glued the parts to a 1" board (using construction glue) and for some purposes that's fine. If you also want quality, durable material for field use, spend more money on another item or "fix it". how i did it

I have a scythe but haven't used it in a while, but I think this stone would go well with it. What interested me the most was sharpening the scalloped cutting edges of our favorite secateurs and they did a great job. The first sharpening took about twenty-five strokes with each blade, and the blade became razor sharp. Now all I have to do is touch up the blades in four or five strokes when they start to dull. A beautiful stone, feels good in the hand and cuts aggressively.
