We have had an Oreck Quick Clean shoulder vacuum since we bought the upright stand many years ago. The hose eventually wore out and we replaced it with a longer one. I only gave it a 9 because we couldn't determine the strength and it doesn't really stretch. It's a flexible thing that feels nice but doesn't stretch. I was a little skeptical about the attachment mechanism but it works better than the original Oreck hose. Stay in place! The hose is longer than the original, which is great, and the foldable hose body is more durable. The only feature that confuses me is the neck that attaches to the outlet of the vacuum hose. It is long and thin, if accidentally stepped on or pulled too hard, it may break. So far so good, no incidents but I think it should have a reinforcement collar or be a bit more massive…

Overall I am very dissatisfied with this purchase. I didn't need a spare hose, I just needed one to use for jobs where a longer hose would come in handy. This hose is nothing like the one that comes with the vacuum cleaner. It is made of hard plastic and is very inflexible. I could stand on that thing and not crush it. It has a "memory" of how it was rolled up in the packaging, which is the opposite of how it should be when attached to a canister. I feel like I'm fighting it all the time when…
