Easy Antenna quickly solves a common problem!

This is a great solution to a common problem that should NOT be that difficult to fix. Trying to properly repair a commonly defective GM antenna can take several hours of work. GM engineers on a very time consuming (and expensive) repair. You can do the same thing in less than 20 minutes with this simple product. We were embarking on a 4600 mile journey and I just didn't have time to fiddle with the antenna. Instead I took a chance with this easy fix and we had the tunes the whole time!

Pros
  • Typical 7M Compatible Base (2007-2018) Chevy, GMC
Cons
  • New Competitors Arrive

Make sure everything you think about advertising is in the package.

If I could get the tool needed to install this kit and an extra size 2 bolt I would get 5 stars. But since I have to go out and buy an Allen key to mount the small screw on the side and hope my antenna will fit on the stud, 2 stars is all I get. If you show 4 items in the description picture when you want to pack it and you see 4 items not in the box, you know your product is incomplete or you are misleading your potential customers on purpose and that is a bad deal .

Pros
  • Compatible with broken base 15829166 or 22876545
Cons
  • Useless features

saved me a lot of trouble

2014 Sierra when I first tried to remove the antenna (after 7 years) and the bolt broke off completely. I can only hammer it to the point where GM put a lot of threadlock on it. I have about 1/8" bolts left, enough for a full turn of the antenna. I saw this article and should have tried it first before trying to replace the entire component/cable and I'm glad I did. I have switched to a short antenna and I believe I am getting a good signal with this adapter/field fix.

Pros
  • Antenna mount repair -- creates new antenna threads
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

works fine - Antennas

I tried a few tricks before such as: When that didn't work I wrapped it with 1/2" copper strip cut from a water pipe and then tried a conductive epoxy which didn't hold up well. I received these and they fit perfectly. The problem was, that the top of my antenna mount set screw was off so the set screw couldn't pinch anything. However, it's snug enough to stay in place no matter what. I can drill and cut a bottom hole later. If it's windy, I get a little hiss on AM because it's just friction…

Pros
  • Compatible base 6M, typical (1999-2006) Chevy and GMC SUV
Cons
  • Protection

No fuss no fuss with AV accessories

This product saved my life, it took me 5 minutes to install this thing and get the radio working again . ordinary. I thought it was some sort of tap but I was wrong, it slides over the old antenna and then clips in with a set screw creating a solid mount for you and a new antenna bolt without showing. hidden under a plastic cover around the antenna. I ended up putting a shorter antenna on it and it fit perfectly. To do this, you'll need to put some sandpaper on top of the original antenna's…

On my 08 GMC SIERRA 1500 I had to use my Dremel to trim the plastic

I installed this on my GMC Sierra 1500 08 and it solved my cracked base problem perfectly but I ran into ONE problem. You will need a dremel rotary tool or similar to remove some plastic from the windshield hood end cap on this body style (this is the plastic piece you will need to remove to install this product). I can't speak for other GM models but this particular hood end cap will NOT snap into place without removing some material from the underside. If you take your time it will come out…
