This product is essential for any crowded aquarium, especially any goldfish aquarium, crowded or not. Usually lasts 2 to 3 months. Low price for an aquarium with fish without ammonia. Be careful, don't cheat! Always use aquaclear products only! Replace foam every 2 months, activated carbon every month, ammonia carbon every 3 months.

I usually buy BioMax in larger sizes and separate them as it comes out a lot cheaper. only 2.8 ounces required, but the box that arrived was only 4.4 ounces. Actually the whole box is different from the picture. I am not satisfied with this very fraudulent practice.

AquaClear has done a good job on my aquarium. I've used 70 gallon foam in my 30 gallon tank, but I've also used 30 and 50 gallon Biomax. This product, along with the carbon and foam, keeps my tank incredibly clean. This was the only purchase I was very happy with. I usually change the foam every 6 months. I only have to rinse them between changes.
