I bought this armband because my old armband didn't have an extra Velcro strap to attach the Nike+ receiver. I was able to put my iPod nano on it with the clear case on it in this case. Yes, it's not necessary to keep a case on the Nano, but it was too lazy to take it off and it fits perfectly with it.
