NOT 8 AWG and NOT for ATC fuses!

They do NOT have 8 AWG wire leads as listed. They appear to be 8 AWG considering the wire's insulation, but the wire itself is NOT 8 AWG. They're probably more like 12 AWG - maybe a little thicker. I ended up buying a Bussman 6 AWG maxi fuse holder instead - and the wire gauge comparison between the two is HUGE. Also, these are MAXI fuse holders, not ATC fuse holders as stated in the description.

Not 8 AWG but still works for me

I spliced the wire into the #10AWG splices and connected to another #10 wire with no problem. I inserted the wire into the #8AWG eyelet and it was very slack. Obviously not wire number 8. Regardless, I only needed a means of disconnecting the solar array so the included 50 amp fuses are sufficient to ensure they don't accidentally trip during use, and are also physically large enough to easily to be pulled out and provide a way to disconnect the photovoltaic system. . The wire insulation is…

With 35 amps of continuous current flowing through this unit, it melted. I smelled fire and called the fire department. Using a thermal imaging camera, they looked for the source and discovered the problem before a major fire broke out in our home. I thought this would be the best solution for my solar panel. This device is dangerous with a 50A fuse. The fuse will only blow if you have a rapid current surge of up to 50 amps. I would not run more than 20 amps through this thing on a regular…
