draw luck? in the wiring harnesses of the radio

worked a good 5 minutes. I tested it and it worked, then I cleaned the wires (taped them in place so they looked good and didn't get in the way too much), then put everything back together, I tried again and it didn't connect switched on. So I bought a new head unit and thought that the head unit was defective after the first time. and the second head unit wouldn't turn on at all, I called several car stereo shops and had them look at it. Apparently the problem was in the pink wire on the…

Great product, terrible instructions

Fits my car perfectly. I'm only giving 3 stars because the instructions are TERRIBLE! For those who are struggling and don't want to surf the internet like me, here's some (hopefully) helpful info: You need to connect BOTH the red wires on the wiring harness to the red wire on the main unit. The instructions don't mention there are 2 red wires, that's stupid, but I've found a lot of people have this problem. In addition, there will be a lot of extra wires. As this is common across many makes…

Easy to install (even TWICE!)

I bought this adapter to install an aftermarket radio on my 2004 GMC Envoy. It was very easy to install and works as described. The "sound" it replaces with the factory sound sounds a bit awkward at first, but it's not that bad. Just in case you're not exactly sure what it does. In some vehicles (I'm not sure which, so you'll have to do your own research) factory-installed radios control various other functions, such as the horn. On my 2004 Envoy, even after I park the truck, the radio stays on

Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other models

This suspension is just what I needed for my 2003 GMC Sierra. I installed a new JVC head unit and needed a way to support all the alert sounds as well as the OnStar features. I chose this product because it is made by Metra, one of the big manufacturers in the aftermarket stereo market and I think it offers the best value for money. Metra technical support was also very helpful in clarifying a rather vague part of the instructions otherwise very easy to follow. I was able to follow the color…

Fits 2006 Chevy Trailblazer

I was a little wary of the unit based on some reviews but it fit me well. As mentioned elsewhere, just read the instructions carefully when connecting it to the aftermarket wiring harness. I find it helpful to mark the connections with a marker and do the moves first before you start soldering. I wanted to mention at least 4 areas of concern that I had based on feedback from others: 1) Space - I had plenty of room in the back/beside the radio for the unit and additional wiring. I have an SUV…
