do your job. in Aquarium Pumps and Filters

I should NOT have bought this for the aquarium, but for our favorite fountain (water bowl). The one that came with it was broken and I was recommended this as a replacement. My only issue (and that's because I'm not using it for its intended purpose) is that the cord is thick so it doesn't fit in the water bowl. Again, this is because we are NOT using it in an aquarium.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Zweifel

The wiring is NOT grounded! BEWARE!

The wiring is NOT grounded! BEWARE! I wanted to solder another ground wire to increase the length, but found that the pump was not grounded. There is a grounding plug but no grounding wire. See photo. I would have sent it back but I cut the cord and it's still cheap. Also didn't receive any fittings via email to increase the pipe size. Hey, you get what you pay for! Chinese garbage!

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Doesn't work well with Catit

I bought this to replace the one in my Catit fountain, it's very small, it only has two suction cups on the bottom, it moves through the water and it took me a few tries to find a line. It doesn't level well and generates a lot of vibration. The power cord is very long and not compatible with the Catit chassis. I just replaced my entire Catit, can't complain, it lasted 4 years.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Good cheap pump.

I purchased this pump to replace a pump that failed in my 5 gallon top fin retreat aquarium. Fits perfectly behind the plastic bezel and I was able to slot it in without any extra bits. Flow control is good so you can turn it down so you don't overwhelm small fish. It's quiet enough to be in your bedroom, but you can hear it if you listen carefully. If you're sensitive to such things, be aware, but it's still very quiet.

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons
  • Empty
