very impressed - first

When these shorts arrived they made a very strong impression. Well packaged and apparently of good quality, I was dying to wear them for a walk, which I did the next morning. then reality fixed it. The padding was less than impressive as it didn't look any better than it did in my 5 year old Izumi Pearl shorts. But what really bothered me was the size of the feet. The right side appeared to be much larger in diameter than the left and neither side grabbed the thigh - I followed the…

Everything about these shorts is wrong.

I drive 80-100 miles a week on the freeway, average build, 6'1", 36" waist. Size L fits as expected, but that's where the positive vibes end. Chamois is somehow fat in the wrong places and skinny in the wrong places. Incredible performance. It gets wet after about 30 minutes because it has no moisturizing effect and actually folds up after I get up to stretch. Suede seams come loose after 1 hour ride (photo attached). And men, if you're not already impotent, you will be! Also, these shorts come

Improper Leg Holes

Waist and hem fit well. Let the holes be very, very loose and have threads pulled over the leg holes to keep the silicone from wrapping around my legs and holding. It's not clear why the leg openings were loose and ill-fitting. Or why the strings were pulled. *UPDATED 06/13/18. The reorder fits at the waist and butt, but again the leg opening is too loose to wrap around my hips. I can slip a finger or two between the bottom seam and the bottom of my thigh. It should be comfortable. You see I…

All the hype! on sportswear

I was looking for a good budget pair of cycling shorts and after a bit of research on some cycling blogs it was pointed out that they are not considered great budget pants, just a great pair of shorts Trousers. The suede on it is just as good at a much higher price! I rode it my first century and had no problems with the saddle. I've been using them for a while now and really like them. They hold up to the mileage very well and if I need another pair in the future this will be the first place I

Super short waist and low cut - sent back

About a year ago I ordered 3 pairs of shorts of the same brand and description which I really like but unfortunately have a completely different design. i am 5 years old Size 10 with 34" inseam, the length was perfect but the waist was too low. Now looking at the model in the picture the shorts seem to sit about 3 inches below his navel. Not a comfortable place at all. I love it when cycling shorts hug my natural waist. They are also slightly smaller than the version they sold last year which…

***Updated Rating After 1000 Miles***

- - - - - 1000 Miles Updated Rating - - - - -I rode over 1000 miles in 5 months in these shorts. I've found that after about 3-4 months of use you really start to feel saddle pain if you ride for more than 2 hours. I've been wearing them for 5 months now and I've just started developing a blister on my buttocks. So it's time for me to find new shorts with better suede lining. Overall these shorts aren't bad, the build quality is pretty good and overall they're not bad. I just wouldn't recommend

High quality at an affordable price

I used to wear Pearl Izumi cycling shorts, but after leaving the army I gained weight and had to order a size up. These shorts are cheaper than Zhemchug so I hesitated to buy them as Zhemchug brand suited me. However, I have several pairs of Baleaf activewear underwear and found the quality to be good, so I took a chance and bought a pair of cycling shorts. I am impressed. I didn't think 3D padding would make a difference, but it does. The My Pearl shorts feature standard foam throughout the…

Good fit, comfortable. Good price.

My rating may not apply to cyclists with diamond frames. As you can see, I ride a recumbent tricycle. Since most cycling shorts are made of elastane or mountain bike, they are usually only available in black. In the lying saddle, the hot sun roasts the black cloth like crazy. Good for an upright position, but not good for a lying position where the sun shines directly on the core/legs. I like that they came in grey. You are cool in the sun and breathing. I don't care about the padding, but I…

3rd of 3 different pairs I'm considering

I'm a very fit male, 6ft 3in/190lbs and a 20 year old serious cyclist. Pants size 33w / 34l. I ride 3-4 times a week for 50+ miles per ride in the foothills and mountains of East Tennessee. This week I decided to try 3 new cycling shorts: bpbtti for $14.99 (L) I also bought a pair of BALEAF for $26.99 (M) which I am considering and RION for $18.99 ( m). I read several comments on each pair to understand what size to order. Please see my other reviews for the other two pairs. I've been an avid…
