easy air intake bracket

just returned from her first long trip, 3000 miles with a five wheel trailer that weighs about 12,000 pounds. reset option. Truck only has 40,000 miles, vent needs to be replaced at 65,000 miles, but from what I've found online from others, Banks' cold air will set a code to turn on, not 100% sure. but only goes away from other reports. 2016 3500 sheep

Pros
  • very good value
Cons
  • little things

This opened up the intake speed for the turbo! Vehicle: RAM 3500 Limited HD

My city/highway has gained 2.3mpg over the last 2215 miles. And highway miles to tow at 0.8mpg. The highway mileage with no traction actually went from 22mpg to 24mpg. It's worth every penny in savings on diesel and the side effect is that I actually use MUCH LESS DEF now. I am not happy with the fact that almost complete disassembly is required to clean the filter. At least with normal use it happens about every two years due to the miles I drive and the terrain it's used on.

Serious design flaws

I usually admire the technical thoroughness that goes into Banks products, but this air intake isn't quite on the same level. There are 3 design issues: 1) The airbox is anything but airtight. There is a half inch clearance between the front louver and the air box on all sides! There's a reason the OEM box has tight tolerances (1-2 millimeters and only at the top of the front dam door). When the front choke is closed it should not let anything through. I assume this prevents water from running…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine
