🍶 Vintage Heavy Duty Strainer - Barfly M37071VN Review

The product size was not clear from the description when I bought mine (early 2020). I wanted to be cool like Greg from How to Drink, but this julep spoon is too small for one-handed use with my glass cocktail mixer. I can get it working with two hands, but a really big julep spoon fits in the cocktail mixer for one-handed use. This allowed me to support the cocktail glass with my other hand to avoid spilling it.

I have gold. The quality is immediately apparent as it's slightly thicker than the discounted versions and the springs are compressed meaning they hold more ice chips, pulp, etc. Fits the mixing glass with a satisfying "pop" and you can pour with confidence that it will stay in place. It will cost you more than the cheap one, but if you have the money and are serious about your mixology hobby, I think you will be really happy. The choice of colors is great too.

Bought after hearing bad reviews about Cocktail Kingdom and their service. I'm glad I made this as it is a very solid, durable hawthorn screen that looks like it will last forever. The availability of spare springs is also great. I'm glad I saw this on The Educated Barfly. I only wish I could get a stainless steel version instead of copper. I don't really know how durable the coating/finish is and I really don't want it ending up in drinks. However, a top product.
