A simple sensor but does the job well.

Probe came well packaged, fast delivery. A simple sensor that should be fine as long as it has fuel in it. The only improvement I could see is the lettering. I have my tank in the basement, the gauge is easy to see, but the level indicators are hard to see in the dimly lit basement. But hey? The nice red disc in the middle is a good indicator for me, and yes, do I mind that much when I'm near a quarter tank? It can still be seen.

Pros
  • <p>Fits a standard 275 or 330 vertical oil tank with a depth of 42" to 44". Fits 1 1/2" and 2" hole sizes
Cons
  • Not all will fit

Replacing my original Becket sensor.

This is a tank sensor! It's good. Suitable for oil tanks from 275 gallons to 550 gallons. Just read the instructions, the float should float (yes) and not touch the sides of the tank once installed. It's up to the installer to get it right. This is a replacement for the one broken by a fallen branch. The one it replaced was at least 10 years old because it was here in the tank when I bought the house. As long as the airtight seals stay watertight I don't see why it wouldn't last 20 years.

Cons
  • thin

Works as advertised, easy to install if you take the time to read!

Easy installation if you follow the instructions. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS! Works perfectly. I used my "dipstick" to know I was half full before installing this gauge. After installing it showed I was at half a tank and it goes down significantly as we burn oil. Takes the guesswork out of when to prime and eliminates the need to call in a service technician for installation. The only thing you don't need in the box is thread sealant, although I see no reason why teflon tape wouldn't work as long

Cons
  • Security

King Oil Tank Gauge

Can you believe I read the guide on how to install this thing while maintaining the correct proportion of the mechanism to the long section of the tank? There was a 2 x 1/4" adapter socket in the tank, so I removed that socket because I thought that if I left the socket in the tank the gauge height adjustment would interfere with the lever at full range. Install the gauge with the plastic cover removed and correctly align the gauge arm with the long length of the tank so that the arm does not…

Great replacement for oil tanks

Works very well. Our existing float for our 275 gallon sedan oil tank failed and is very difficult to remove. Luckily we had two covered holes of different sizes. I chose a 2" hole away from the oil fill inlet, used thread sealant and tightened it with an 18" adjustable sanitary wrench. I don't see how other keys would work because they are very tight. The plastic bladder (as shown in my picture) is easy to unscrew by hand so you can properly tighten the new float. Unless you unscrew the…

Cons
  • Good but not great

wanted to please, FAILED in less than 2 years.

Over the last few years I've had times when I've run out of oil. my very old tank outside. After further investigation by myself and a local HVAC contractor, we determined that my line was not deep enough in the tank. So we moved the line and that problem was solved. I came here looking for an easy way to check the fuel level as you can't see it with the naked eye. This simple sensor fits perfectly, I bought it in December 2014 and it hasn't run out of oil since. As a rule of thumb, if I get…

Cons
  • Big and bulky
