I like wooden handles, they are almost perfect. However, I didn't like the bamboo ones because the space inside the hook on my yarn was VERY tight, until I went in with a thin nail file and smoothed it out, there are some ragged edges that will tear your yarn. The case is good, the hooks fit.

I read so many recommendations about bamboo hooks that I had to try them. I found them very easy to use once you "broke" them. I am very happy with these hooks and prefer them to the aluminum hooks I have used before. For those who have trouble with this, I recommend "polishing" them by wiping them with a dry cotton cloth. This will smooth the surface and allow the yarn to slide more easily. They're not as "fast" as metal, but I find them more positive and I get more consistent results.

This is a great buy. I skip stitches with some yarns, but bamboo is perfect for the baby blankets I make. The aluminum hooks are so sharp that they catch on spots on the yarn, but the bamboo is wide in all the right places and just slips through! Ideal! I use both aluminum and bamboo and encourage any crafter to try different materials because you never know how things will work together.
