Bikers Choice Helmet Lock 74937BSE Review

A simple and inexpensive way to try a helmet on your bike. Diameter tolerance is good. I was able to mount it on a Kawasaki Versys tubular frame on the left side just below the front corner of the seat. It's barely noticeable. This position makes attaching the helmet a little tricky due to the correct nature of where I installed it, but that was to be expected. It can also be mounted to a handlebar, although mounting requires about two inches of handlebar length, so take that into account.

As long as someone trying to remove your helmet doesn't have something to pry off, it will keep them from grabbing your helmet. This will prevent someone from just walking away with your helmet, but if they even have a screwdriver it's a very flimsy little thing and I'm pretty sure you can break a metal latch in 2 seconds with anything. Not sure I'll even leave it on the bike, it's just a place to hang a helmet, which is less convenient than just using a carabiner and just slightly safer.

I like the idea and theory of this product but the execution is terrible. After reading some reviews I decided to make sure the keys and lock worked well and smoothly. Unfortunately it went back immediately due to poor workmanship of the cams and keys. I'll look elsewhere for a solution, but beware of this lock. Great for my needs. The bar isn't the highest quality product in the world, but for what it's designed for, it works great! I installed mine on the frame tube between the rear pins and the seat on the Susuzki Vstrom 1000. Be sure to leave the helmet strap rings where you intend to mount the device to ensure that the helmet can be easily attached and removed (but not). touching the ground, hot exhaust, basically in the perfect spot as you see it a lot!).
