Didn't climb high enough

I put 1/2" foam underneath to give it more "buoyancy"... but there still wasn't enough clearance and the speaker hit the grille. For reference got it I used the Sunset Sa-12. Powerful speaker but I will probably need a 1" washer for proper spacing. Problem is NOTHING is the right size or shape for this project. Didn't want to modify and that's it what this grill demands.

It's durable, rust-resistant, and most importantly, offers real protection.

Nothing to say: It's a metal rod that keeps things from touching the subwoofer. There was a lot of heavy weight in the trunk of my car that my subwoofer is in, and the speaker is fully intact thanks to this grille. The screws provided are acceptable and unlike other reviewers I didn't have to add anything to lengthen it.

I needed a grille to prevent the subwoofer from hitting the seat

This was perfect for what I needed. A way to prevent the subwoofer from touching the seat it is under. When I lifted the seat (back of the F-150), the subwoofer made the metal in the grille vibrate and hum. Almost like hitting a tuning fork. In other words, if you put it on top of the subwoofer and the grille isn't touching the seat, you might create extra noise in your system.
