You should protect the speaker

You should protect my speaker. Well built. The speaker I'm using has a very large foam roller, I mean huge. They had the highest height I could find at 1.3 inches. They needed spacers to ensure there was a gap. I was looking for a grille to cover the entire speaker. I found that. looks ok

Didn't rise high enough

I put 1/2"thick foam underneath to give it more 'buoyancy'... but there still wasn't enough clearance and the speaker hit the spot Grille. I used the Sunset Sa-12 as a reference. Powerful speaker, but I'll probably need a 1" washer for proper spacing. Problem is, NOTHING is the right size or shape for this project. Didn't want to modify and that's what this grill asks for.

It's durable, rust-resistant, and most importantly, offers real protection.

Not much to say here: it's a metal bar that prevents objects from touching the subwoofer. I had a lot of bulky goods in the trunk of my car where my subwoofer is and the speaker is completely undamaged thanks to this grille. The screws provided are acceptable and unlike other reviewers I didn't have to add anything to increase their length.
