This arrived very quickly and I love knives. The only downside is that older kids can easily unlock it, I would say any kid over the age of 5 can figure it out pretty easily. However, the knives are an update to my old set and cut through the watermelon like butter.

With smooth precision and easy fingertip control, you'll be surprised at the price. Paid so much for a knife not as good as all of these. I love the knife block that comes with them. Along with the knife handles, it's clean and modern. Almost what Apple would do if it sold a set of knives. As for my favorite knife of all time, this one makes the final cut with ease.

I chose this set over others with more knives because I was looking for something simple and light that would last. However, the locking mechanism takes some getting used to. This is great if you have kids or maybe pets that can grab or knock over knives, but so far I've whipped the coaster a little further than I care to admit as I'm not used to it yet. The knives are generally ok but I'm sure you could get similar quality for less.

Comes in a branded box to match the set, not just a brown box which is good if you're gifting it like me. It was a present for my brother so the locks were very important as he is a big kid. Seriously, locks would be useful if you have kids, but only up to a certain age as it's just a lever and can't be locked with a key, which is fine for our purposes. The knives are sharp, the handles are comfortable, the whole set is lightweight as opposed to bulky wooden blocks.

This lock is so trivial that any child who can open a drawer can open it. No electricity is required at all to unlock. No tricky moves. Pill caps are harder to open. Perhaps the only "safety" is to keep the knives from falling if someone accidentally knocks over the block. But the knife box alone prevents it from tipping over. And when your kid is frolicking in the kitchen, there's a lot of damage ahead, "protected" knife block or not. I am returning this item because of an inaccurate…
