My daughter wanted a full length nightgown and found one to try on. I washed it but when I got it out of the washing machine I quickly realized that it needs to be stretched and not tossed in the dryer. I hung dry and it's back to normal. We still love it and it serves its purpose and makes them happy! I'd say although my daughter is a petite 12, a size 12 wasn't ankle length - if that's what you're looking for.
