I am cutting through a piece of veneer glued to 3/4 inch thick pressboard. The veneer had chipped - not much, but enough to defeat the purpose of the canvas.

I used these with a Bosch jigsaw to cut laminate counters after installation. They were of the post type and this made all the work of cutting the shells from above (without chipping at all) a lot easier. Prevents the counter from tipping over after cutting a large flush hole in the middle. Also, it's easier to mark it on the top.
