Excellent goods; worth the price

Well made, durable and easy to use and clean. I've broken a lot of cheese slicers so it made sense to invest in a good quality cheese slicer to ship the blocks of cheese. I like the Copenhagen lines, but I bought this model for the ability to cut knives of different widths. I love Boska products, would highly recommend them and would definitely buy them again. I also think this product would make a great gift.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Something's wrong

Good quality but a little tricky to use

Good size to store in a cheese block bag in the fridge (we store our cheese in a large upright stash). Rinse between the blocks of cheese. Okay, but it's so hard to use (requires hand and wrist strength). And it only makes thin slices unless you're very strong. But thin slices are good for a lot of things. But the discs are small, only about an inch or two wide. My partner prefers them to a knife, unless the block of cheese is small, in which case the knife is just as good.

This is a cheese knife holder

It cuts nice thin slices of cheese, much thinner than I can get with wire cutters and sturdier than a sharp knife. It doesn't work so well with hard cheeses, but then it shouldn't. This is definitely better than having to deal with the constantly disconnecting wires from the plastic cheese knives that are available at my local grocery store. The metal on the sides of the blade feels like it's thin enough to flex one day, but I've been using it almost every day for a few months and it hasn't…

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Good cheese cutter.

You might think the cheese slicer would be the same if you "pay” more for one than for the other. Since I was visiting my father, I needed a good cheese cutter. I bought one from another brand 20 or more years ago and I love it. Cuts well, lightweight and easy to use. I was hoping that a little more for a "standard" cheese slicer would make a difference, but no! This one is fine as it slices well, but it is heavier and the slices can vary. I suspect it has to do with the angle of the blade and…

Great product Good design Dishwasher safe a big plus!

The item itself is quite usable and best of all it's dishwasher safe. Let's see how long the blade lasts, which is my biggest concern. Our old vintage was over 40 years old but still as hot as day one; he lost his pen so we went looking for a new one and chose Boska. FYI, the second one was received in error but the MMP Living seller completed the transaction beyond what we asked for. EXCELLENT and FAST customer service. A good product. We love using it. Update: I've been using our new Boska…

Beautiful and nice quality cheese slicer

This cheese slicer is of a much higher quality than what is sold in most shops. It's made in the Netherlands where they really know their cheese, it's a solid very sharp slice with a metal handle. Unlike models with a wooden handle, it can be washed in the dishwasher without side effects. The handle and blade are noticeably sharper than other cheese slicers of this type. The edge that actually cuts through the cheese is very sharp and requires almost no pressure to pull across the cheese. Even…

3 Cheese Slicers Direct Comparison

I recently bought 3 cheese slicers because I really want one that really slices hard cheese into slices that are perfect for me. Like you, my European wooden-handled slicer recently broke, leaving me with a cheese cutter - ugh. I can tell you with certainty that I have found my new favorite plane. I bought two Boskas (Copenhagen & Monaco) and a KBasix slicer. , both Boskas performed well, but the $10 Copenhagen fared better, offering a slightly thicker slice of cheese. If you eat manchego…
