Everyone in the world should have a cheese cut

I grew up partly in the Netherlands and no family had this cut. If you live in America you don't usually see them for sale. I hunted Revane, of course. This little slicer is fantastic - on par with what we had as kids, albeit a little lighter. The cuts are excellent. I hope the blade will last as I don't know how to sharpen it when needed. Shredding is a thing of the past. Thank you Copenhagen Cheese Slicer!

Works best when slicing hot butter. The cheese is not very good.

The product turned out to be of excellent quality, well packaged and even had blue tape on the cut edge for protection. Not sure what they were protecting as it is by no means sharp. I have a 20+ year old cheese razor that I replaced and it's still really sharper than this new thing. If you are looking for a well-made, beautiful razor, then this is it. If you're looking for something savory like shaving cheese, look elsewhere.

Ideal for making thin slices of soft cheese

Cheese wire cutters kept breaking so I decided to give it a try as it has a lot of good reviews. This works pretty well as long as I buy 1lb blocks of cheese. Two pound loaves won't work unless I cut the loaf into smaller pieces. Also, it doesn't pair well with mozzarella cheese or crumbly cheese like well-aged cheddar. Last but not least, it has a blunt blade. Haven't tried sharpening it yet, but it barely cuts through even thin slices and gets stuck on thick ones. Overall, I really like this…

This is what a cheese cutter should look like

I think I've been looking for this cheese cutter for over 20 years. We had something similar growing up and I always thought my mother bought it in Sweden when she was at exchange college. I have bought many cheese cutters over the years and have been disappointed. Everyone. Lonely. Time. I hate those where the wire is too loose, then it breaks, then it bends. Every time I've looked in the store for a cheese slicer I've always looked for one but never found it and just assumed it's no longer…

  • Brilliantly made

  • The list is getting long.

Very easily. and it works!

I first encountered this type of cheese cutter in western New York cheese factories, where they were used to cut samples of cheddar cheese. I forgot how well they work until recently when I was looking for a good functional cheese slicer to cut mostly swiss and cheddar cheeses. The slicer is very easy to use and the slices come out evenly with minimal practice. As mentioned in some reviews, it's lightweight but feels fairly solid and should be reliable for its intended use. I would definitely…

Great slicer for most hard cheeses

Impressed. Like Apple, they say they're made in China and designed in Holland. I like the one piece lightweight look. It replaces a similar two-piece plane where the razor has started to separate from the handle. I only read the negative reviews after the food slicer was on its way. Here's what I think: • It's not too little; You can get a slice in the middle of a hard cheese exactly one slice wide. If you want it wider, please read the product specifications; • He is perceptive. There is blue…

Comparing 3 cheese slicers

I recently bought 3 cheese slicers because I was desperate to find one that would actually cut hard cheese into slices that I think are perfect. Like you, my European wooden-handled slicer recently broke, leaving me with a cheese cutter - ugh. I can tell you with certainty that I have found my new favorite plane. I bought two Boskas (Copenhagen & Monaco) and a KBasix slicer. , both Boskas performed well, but the $10 Copenhagen fared better, offering a slightly thicker slice of cheese. If you…
