Great for the price!

Nice unit! I use this in my van for my GPS, phone, iPad and tool battery chargers. Works perfectly. I wish the cigarette lighter cord was a bit longer.

Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Poor wiring, surprisingly it didn't catch fire

Pretty good product only lasted two months so I think it's really not a good product, it's electrical work on a plug. I know you, people want to move your product but you can't do a crappy job so now I have to go back and fix it. I will never buy any of your products again

Pros
  • Great for me

The fuses are temperamental and render it unusable

Product failed on first use. When using the machine for the first time, the fuse blew. We ended up fixing frayed cables from another old unit of ours rather than struggling with blown fuses that made it impossible to use as advertised with either output port, which we have to use with a bunch of kids who get spooked when travelling .

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Basically fine, but...

Works pretty well. good for tools and equipment

We used it to start the slow cooker to cool down roast beef on our recent camping trip. Dinner was hot and ready to eat when we got to the campsite. When using the original battery without charging, the device emits a low-voltage warning tone. As soon as I started my van's engine and the generator started charging the house battery, the warning tone stopped.

Pros
  • good cause
Cons
  • dubious purchase for elderly

Quiet and lots of power!

That's power! On long journeys, we need to power all of our various electrical accessories; those things we have come to consider needs. For my wife it was a heating pad but for me it was a laptop. We've tried other smaller inverters that make your cigarette plug look like an AC plug, but they were noisy and only worked temporarily for a heating pad. This device has a fan, but it only turns on when needed. So far, our device has fed the heating pad silently and continuously. Since my laptop…

Fan stops working after 3 hours of use

Bought for a 20 hour trip from Indiana to Florida. Arrived late so I couldn't take it with me. My brother received the package and kept it at home until I returned. I just unpacked and used it 4 days ago. Used it on a family trip from Indiana to Tennessee. I only use it to charge my laptop here and there. After about 3 hours of charging, it started making a strange squeaking noise. Upon further investigation, the radiator fan failed. In just 3 hours charging time without load! It is too late…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Out of style

Good inverter - worth buying

We went camping and needed an inverter to run a CPAP boat battery for a few days. We liked the ability to use this inverter from the cigarette lighter or connect it to the battery. Previously we used a friend's inverter and a battery setup. The fan of this inverter was very noisy when running. We had to place it outside the tent with an extension cord. BUT this inverter was very quiet compared to its operation. The fan spins more under load, but is reasonably quiet. Three days later, we learned

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Charge a few phones, turn on the lights and watch TV. All this is less than 300 watts, so there should be enough power in this device - in continuous operation it is 500 watts. However, I tested this at my workplace using a large external auto-starter with two LEDs drawing 25 watts each, a figure I confirmed with a Kill-A-Watt power meter. The 500W BYGD car inverter turns on one of the lights with no issues or complaints, but turning on the second light sets off a shrill alarm which seems to me

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Have quirks
