💧 Calgon Water Softener Powder: Effective Solution for Softened Water, 40 Ounce Review

Based on our own experience with this water softener powder, we would not recommend it to anyone. The powder caused an unpleasant odor in our laundry and even caused skin irritation for some family members. It was disappointing to experience such negative results from a product labeled as "Health and Household.

Not worth the price ($35). It's only a 40-ounce box and holds 1/2 cup for laundry loading and 1/4 cup for the dishwasher. This corresponds to 10 loads of laundry or 20 loads of dishes. It's not worth the money to me. I was expecting a much larger box for the price.

I use Calgon water softener in combination with salt to clean my silver jewelry. A bit pricey but it goes its own way and works like a charm. One tablespoon each in a foil-lined bowl (flat bottom) (shiny side up). The jewelry should touch the foil and be completely submerged and as if by magic the tarnish will disappear.
