High End Gear - Outdoor Recreation

Possibly the best everyday backpack I've seen. The materials are top notch. The construction, fit and finish is top notch here. Zippers, fasteners, seams - everything seems to be done right. This is a durable backpack, and at 2 pounds dry weight, it's also a bit heavy. It takes ounces to hit all those muscles. Here are some other things I really like: The hydration bladder is on the bottom so it's balanced. It was taller in my old backpack and felt heavy at the top. It has a pocket that unfolds

Pros
  • Very fast shipping
Cons
  • Only available in black

Very handy for storing and storing water

I've used other hydration packs before but they were all just for water storage. The inclusion of additional storage made me feel like compromises, but I was perfectly happy with this device. First, it's a whopping 3 liters of water to carry around. You might think it's awkward, but they keep it low. The reservoir includes a divider to prevent spilling during a big move. Getting in and out is also easy. The bottom/back panel with lumbar strap zips off to get it out of the way and then you canโ€ฆ

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • It's ok

Fantastic MULE backpack for hiking!

I have long been a fan of Camelbak gear for all our outdoor needs. I've tried Osprey and Geigerrig and keep coming back to Camelbak for quality and functionality. I have a very similar backpack (LUXE - designed for women) for hiking that I use almost every day. I work as a subcontractor for a dog walking company, taking groups of 6-8 dogs off leash on trails in the canyons, foothills and mountains around the Salt Lake Valley. My husband came with me more and more often and needed his ownโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for seniors

Heavy hydration pack but great for long walks thanks to the large reservoir

This is my third hydration pack. I recently ordered the following three backpacks because I wanted to compare them and also rotate them on 2 hour trips each week. 4 stars. 2 - Thule (pronounced "toolie") Uptake Hydration Pack, 8L with 2.5L Hydrapak - approx. 85 fl oz - excellent pack; 5 Stars. This is my absolute favorite backpack because it strikes a balance between good design and functionality.3 - Osprey Women's Salida 8 (approx. 85 oz) - Great backpack, but the straps are a little fiddly; 4

Pros
  • Magnetic snorkel trap: keeps your tube safe and accessible when you need it
Cons
  • It's fine
