Love this carburetor, it does a great job. Once you set the idle as expected, it idles great and throttles great. The carburetor also improves on some of the shortcomings of the original. It's also a great price and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable and reliable aftermarket carburetor. The only thing is that you have to use the supplied fuel line (if you don't already have that size) because the fuel pickup fitting on the carburetor is a very small diameter.

I bought a friend's Kawasaki who has been up for a while. It stuck together and sometimes stuck the float in the carburetor. I knew buying Chinese stuff was risky but the price was good. I was expecting complete junk but this was a good copy of a Kawasaki carburetor. Since the old carburetor had good idle and mixture settings, I simply removed the old one, counted the number of turns of the bolts until they were fully closed, and then set the exact same new one. Now he runs like a champion.

I installed this carb on a 2000 Kawasaki Bayou KLF220 and after a little tweaking it works great but out of the box it does nothing. I set the idle mixture at 2 rpm and about 4 rpm, but I couldn't give it more than 1/4 throttle or it would choke. I found that the main jet on mine was noticeably smaller than on my original carburetor. I was able to change the jet and needle and adjust the float a bit while I was there because it was a bit low. First, the injectors fitted to this carburetor are incorrect. As it turned out, the main jet was #95 and the pilot jet was #38OEM Bayou 250, the main jet was #117.5 and the pilot jet was #22.5. I changed the normal jets for a new carburetor, I'll work with it for a while and report. not ready to walk out of the box. The nozzle isn't even tight and will be very lean on the main circuit and saturated on the idle circuit. I would recommend using it as long as you use OEM atomizers.

If you buy this carburetor for 250 bayou there are some differences. The fuel inlet on this carb is 1/4 inch while the fuel inlet on the original carb is much larger so the fuel line from the cock to the carb is 250 more. I just bought a 220 faucet and used a 1/4" line. Also, I had to replace the main jet with my old one because I heard the 250 jet is a bit bigger than the 220. First of all I've been repairing ATV's of all kinds for over 40 years so this isn't my first rodeo. The Bayou 220, 250 and 300 carburetor has some age problems. The two main problems are dirt in the enrichment circuit (which counts as a choke valve) and a broken control air screw. If the latter happens you're done, it'll never idle or idle properly again - the pilot screw is a very fine point and when people lower it to set it back to the factory 1.5rpm they snap off the top of the carburetor.…
