It seems to work fine, but when you get close to the knife point.

This seems to work well, but when you get close to the tip of the knife while sharpening, the grinding wheel 'pushes' the knife out as if by accident. I just need to hold the knife tighter I think. However, I would buy it again.

Don't cut yourself! - Kitchen & Dining

This machine turns any knife edge into a tomato nightmare! I've used it to deburr my blade, restore the points and even sharpen my expensive steel M390 knife. I've been doing manual sharpening for a long time, which is a tedious consumer task that can be frustrating at times. The thing is no joke and will fine a dull blade in less than a minute.

Pros
  • Top marks from testers for hold and durability
Cons
  • Style 90

I was definitely surprised at how easy it is.

I was definitely surprised at how easy it was to use and how quickly it sharpened my knives. Those were my kitchen knives now. So I decided to pull out my EDC knife which had a 1/8 inch tip broken off. This is a 4" Cold Steel Ti Lite knife. I was able to sharpen it and sharpen the tip to make it sharp and pointed again.

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank

Fantastic knife sharpener

This is a fantastic sharpener - I followed the instructions that came with it and finished half a dozen brand name kitchen knives in 10 minutes. They are all very sharp now where they used to dull fairly quickly after using either of these ceramic disc sharpeners. My wife used them during Thanksgiving preparations and had repeated praise for them. Only time and use will tell if they retain their benefits.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Some little things

Repeated sharpening improves the blade

I encourage other customers who are not satisfied with the results to use their knives within a week of the first sharpening and then sharpen them again. Then use another week, then sharpen again. I started with knives that hadn't been sharpened since I bought them years ago. They were almost useless. After using the sharpener they are much better but not as sharp as I remembered. However, I have found that each weekly sharpening improves the edges a little more than the last. The edges may not

I recommend this wonderful little car, good value for money!

I had an old Kitchenaid sharpener for about 25 years, the whetstone eventually wore out. It was ok but not cheap either. For the money I couldn't have asked for anything better. My knives get razor sharp in no time. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. What I love is that even if my knives needed to be resharpened, this machine has a slot (honing) on the far right. a machine that does not require electricity; Pass the knives through 2-3 times and it will be sharp again. It deburrs

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Can cause damage

Highly recommended!

The test of this machine came when I pulled out two of my favorite 8 inch chef's knives that I've had for a little over twenty years and have never been sharpened. I regularly use steel before use (which was a hopeless case because the notches on the edges were too deep) and once a few years ago there was a futile attempt to use a wet stone to recreate the edge. What a disgusting attempt. Fail! After several passes of the most damaged of the two through the car, the end result was nothing short

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Not the best
