Tough As Nails Steak Kits

Allows you to kill, skin and butcher a cow. Then, if you're not too tired, slice it up and eat it. If necessary, you can probably live with them in the forest. They are razor sharp and about the size of a short Roman sword. $10.00 each would be a steal. Get two sets in case you get attacked.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Very expensive

Fairly good steak knives

These are large knives with thick handles. Fits well in the hand, cuts well. They aren't as nice as the sets that are many times more expensive, hence only 4 stars. Walnut handles, untreated. I took several sets of 8 pieces, sanded the handles a little and treated them with Salad Bowl Finish (discs are non-toxic and safe) and then gave gifts to friends. I find that a few hours of rework makes these knives as good as much more expensive sets.

Sharp, durable steak knives with timeless looks

I had a pretty decent set of matching cutlery for 8, but all the knives were almost useless for anything harder than chicken. I've seen these knives at steakhouses before (hence the name I guess) and thought that even if they don't match the others, they have a classy look that still suits them. The only real surprise upon receipt was how big they are, but they're not bulky at all and do the job incredibly well. I can now make clean cuts on steaks with little effort, without having to pull…

Great price, big and strong knives but be very careful with them

These knives are bigger than I expected but they make me want to cut a big steak in Texas or Chicago. I can't say anything bad about them other than that you have to use them carefully. You can cut your finger or part of your hand if you're not careful. That being said, I would of course recommend them, especially for the $15.99 price I paid for the set. Edit: I just have to stress that these knives should be handled and placed with the utmost care. The blades are razor sharp and cut through…

The basic version is correct but still worthy

I bought these knowing I would need to modify them. The handles are real walnut, which is a plus, but the tang (the metal body of the knife between the wooden handles) protruded very proudly from the wood, and the walnut wood itself was finished to a very coarse 80 grit. I've planned - and know how - to sharpen and re-profile knives, so as soon as I got my hands on them, I hammered down the shank until it was flush with the handle, using a sharpening block, and then sharpening strip, then…

Great knives! in Cutlery & Knife Accessories

These are the best steak knives I've ever used let alone owned! I carry a pocket knife every day and sharpen it every day. I believe I am "qualified" to handle a knife safely. However, as luck would have it, I accidentally cut myself with one of these knives the first time I held them in my hands! just had to "touch" the sharp edge to test it and damn I cut myself! This is of course a great thing as it indicates the blade is very sharp :-) The wooden handle is wonderful, however one of the…

Chicago Cutlery 4 Basic Steakhouse Knife Set

The Chicago Cutlery 4 Basic Steakhouse Knife Set 4 that we received surprised us. We were looking for a small set to replace a pair of dull steak knives in our steak knife holder. It's huge compared to what we have. Our old knives are 8 ¾ inches long, Chicago knives are 10 inches long. Reclaimed grips are ¾" wide and 4 ¼" long, Chicago grips are 1 ¼" wide and 5 1/8" long. Chicago knives will likely work well in a restaurant that serves hard-to-cut steak for slicing food in their kitchen. The…
