Stay high above the flames.

My mom has one so I had to try it. That works great. My kids love using it around the campfire and at home on the stovetop. Very durable.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

It didn't work out at all

The corn just didn't pop. It was a big disappointment. If it was a purchase from a local store I would return it but it was too difficult to return in the mail.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are some nuances

Peeling after 3 uses!

Coating peels off after 3 uses. It has always been hand washed and never overheated. It started peeling off right in front of the rear window. Save yourself the frustration, pass it on and keep looking!

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Upgradable

Nonstick Nonstick is ok. to metal. Ouch!

Years ago I had one of these campfire popcorn makers, I think from the same company. It was great until I lost it somewhere along the way! With a little practice, I learned how to make delicious popcorn out of it. In any case, this new popper is NOT of this quality and as other reviews have noted the non-stick coating does not stick to the metal of the popper. It dissolved in the first batch of popcorn I made. There were a lot of black flakes in the corn. Maybe it was paint (?) or maybe Teflon…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors are here
