Great but hand wash

Great knife. I have two now. But you have to wash them by hand, otherwise they'll notice. It says so on the packaging but I didn't pay attention. It's lightweight and very sharp out of the box. Feels great in hand. Love it!

Best Knife Ever: Cutlery & Knife Accessories

I often use a utility knife, mainly for chopping vegetables. This is the best knife I've ever had. It cuts through anything with ease which is a huge boon to my arthritic hands. I liked it so much that I bought a second one to use when the first one gets dirty.

Pros
  • GOLS Certified
Cons
  • No Automatic

Most Versatile Knife

This is the most useful knife I have ever owned. I use it for cutting boxes (it works better than a box opener), slicing slippery fruits and veggies, and carving pumpkins every Halloween. If you have too many useless knives, then you want this knife to replace them. My only complaint is that the blade is on the thin side so you have to be careful when slicing tough veggies like pumpkins or pineapples. If you put too much pressure on the blade, it can bend and slip.

Perfect for slicing pineapples!

I work as a bartender in a company restaurant and I asked for something other than a paring knife (3" blade) or a chef's knife (9" blade) to cut and prepare fruit garnishes, and I got it said we don't have such a knife, so I took it upon myself to find and order my own. As a knife enthusiast, I remembered that one of my favorite knife makers, COLDSTEEL, also had kitchen knives, and I found the 5" utility knife to be just what I needed to cut pineapple and citrus with ease and precision! amazed…

Very happy with utility knives

I had 2 new kitchen knives that I bought from Walmart and they were dull to begin with. I even had trouble slicing tomatoes with it. It was only after reading the reviews of happy customers on this product that I decided to give it a try and I can tell you it's GREAT! It cuts everything so easy! In fact, this is a very dangerous item. So if you buy it, make sure to keep it in a safe place, away from little hands and fingers. But yes, this is exactly what I need for cooking. I've had enough…

Excellent Cold Steel kitchen knife

I recently purchased a Cold Steel machete based on a Japanese short sword with a tanto style point and was duly impressed with the workmanship and sharpness of this tool . boxing I cook a lot of vegetable dishes for my family, including red cabbage and root vegetables. The pairs of knives I had (both serrated and non-serrated) weren't up to the task, so I ordered this 6" serrated utility knife from Cold Steel and I'm very pleased. He easily managed a large red cabbage. cut it like butter. For…

Good multi-purpose kitchen knife

This good multi-purpose kitchen knife you will find will be one of the survivors. So if you rummage in your kitchen/household drawer 15 years from now you will find it and it will be one of the few things you still have from that time and era. It's durable, sharp and lasts a long time. There are 2 reasons I only gave 4 stars. This knife was bought to replace a Cold Steel K7 kitchen knife I bought about 20 years ago (you know what I mean) but the K7 has a 7" blade and Cold Steel doesn't make K7s

Pros
  • Hands-free work
Cons
  • Makes me angry
