A little chunky. My son has enjoyed these boots all winter. Michigan winters are a little unpredictable, so these boots prepared us for heavy snow. I spent extra money on the Columbia brand hoping it would last longer (ideally after two kids) but the stitching came undone on the second winter. Otherwise, the child liked them very much, they fit well in size and were warm. Bought November 2016, broke down in winter 2017. I'm writing this review now because it just occurred to me to check the warranty or warranty extension with a credit card. No luck, Columbia's warranty is only one year, and I haven't used CC.

Bought these as a Christmas present for my nephew who was desperate for quality winter boots. He loves them very much and has been wearing them for 2 days in a row even though there is no snow on the ground. They are well stitched and sealed - VERY warm - but not too heavy like many snowmen and children's waterproof boots. receive. They'll serve him well on his boy scouts and hikes, in the snow, or just walking to the bus stop in the rain.
