Best buy this year!

This is the best! No twisting and pulling common with flat metal bottle openers. It's easy, requires no wrist or hand strength (great for the elderly with arthritis), and is really fun!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • No insurance

Works great for the first year or so.

I bought the second one, the second one broke in less than two years. I don't use it that often, but the spring gets very weak and then won't open bottles on the first or second try until you manually adjust the spring. Basically makes it useless.

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • Minor problems

Not the coolest bottle opener.

For $20 a solid one trick pony, I have cheaper bottle openers that do the same job better. Openers that don't flex lids can also open, can pull tabs and have working magnets - cheaper. Testing multiple bottles of Sam Adams (no twist-off) required two and sometimes three attempts to fully remove the cap. I varied between slow/steady thrusts and strong/quick thrusts - no tactic worked better than the other. Not impressed at all. I sent the opener back. Two stars because it works. I just wouldn't…

Pros
  • Made of durable stainless steel; A firm squeeze opens the cap with ease
Cons
  • thin

Saves my hands from twist off bottles! Love it

I first found one of these on a visit to a knife store. Having a problem with screw tops on my (rare) beers I bought one for myself and one as a gift for my beloved son-in-law. I've found that the secret to removing the cap the first time is to push the decapitator down firmly and then pull up. If you are hesitant to press, the cover will not be removed. It's not difficult, and I appreciate I didn't hurt my hands on the protrusions on the screw caps. I also have a carpel tunnel which is a lot…

Pros
  • Magnet keeps the cap in place
Cons
  • Change

Great bottle opener! Will make a great gift!

I recently got married and bought these as gifts for my friends and helpers. All the kids liked her. I've seen websites where you can even get them with a stainless steel finish and custom engraving. Update: I got myself one after about a year because my other bottle opener broke. I have to say it's nice and comfortable, but for some reason you have to press once, do 1/4 turn and press again. A pressure doesn't seem to remove the lid most of the time. That's really not a problem because to be…

Pros
  • Elegant design looks great on any bar
Cons
  • Crumpled wrapping
