So far I've had a wireless adapter for a while.

I've had the WLAN adapter for almost a week. I bought 2 and they both work out of the box with Windows 10. I got them to replace an N 150 wireless adapter. I'm using mine with a 5GHz bandwidth and they seem to work fine. One is on the other side of the wall and the other is about 12 feet from the router, so nothing too complicated. I didn't run any speed tests, but Youtube and Netflix videos are no longer buffered like my N.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • update availability

D-Link USB wireless adapters seem to be the most reliable choice for Mac/Hackintosh computers, if only for the drivers provided by can be downloaded from their website. . Some other brands just don't support anything other than Windows based desktops/laptops. In terms of speed, everything was great. The connection would drop from time to time, but simply turning my wifi on/off would have helped. This might be an issue for some, but it hasn't happened often enough to justify a return or aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy Setup
Cons
  • Frequency

This compact AC600 USB WiFi adapter from D-Link exceeded my expectations. I got it to replace a very old (Wireless G) adapter from Netgear that had finally died. Installing the adapter after installing the software couldn't be much easier. It was quickly connected to the existing network with a very strong and reliable connection. It's also a lot faster than the old G wireless adapter it replaced! Here's what I like: + Small size means it doesn't protrude from the back of this desktop PC +โ€ฆ

Didn't live up to expectations

I bought a new dlink router (dual band with AC support) so I bought a few of these guys to upgrade my system and get the speeds promised by FIOS . So far, the router makes a decent impression. It does what is advertised. But not these gadgets. First I had to move the router within 15 feet of my computer before it picked up a signal and even allowed me to connect to the router. I have an app on my smartphone to measure signal strength from their sources and I could pick up both 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Minor issues

In order for this to work with a newer Linux kernel, you need to find and download a git repository. My initial review was not accepted, maybe because the url was provided as external urls seem to be forbidden, so I'll just say look for the git repo rtl8812AU_8821AU_linux. ArchLinux offers an AUR package for this. You will probably need to reboot after installing the module. For this reason I wanted to give it only two stars, but after installing the module, it offers excellent speed. It'sโ€ฆ

Pros

Installation procedures require better documentation.

I bought it to use on a laptop with a dual boot system - Ubuntu and Windows 10. Of course, the product comes without instructions for Ubuntu, but I have a link to [ .] found smooth as silk. Then I tried installing the Windows driver from the DVD that came with the key. It was a nightmare. The operating system prevented me from installing it because it was "untrusted". I went to the manufacturer's website and there was an FAQ that said something like "I can't install this on Windows 10"โ€ฆ
