Arrived finally best in corkscrew and opener

It got lost in shipping and what should have been a couple of fairies turned into more than a month. When it arrived I used it to open the bottle. Stable enough and works as described.

Pros
  • It's made
Cons
  • It's hard to remember but it was

DO NOT BUY Best of Kitchen and Dining

This thing pushes the cork in the bottle - of course, once the cork is in the bottle it's impossible to get it out! We tried it on 4 different bottles - never worked! waste of money!

Pros
  • Beautiful
Cons
  • Clarity

After a little practice it worked very well!

Friends had wine they didn't want to drink so we could use it if we wanted as the corks were dry. After trying a regular corkscrew (disaster) I bought this one. It took a partially successful attempt to succeed a second time. The trick is to insert the pins into the bottle as deep as you can without pushing the cork too deep.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Style 90

You get what you pay for

The metal is very brittle. I bought this to replace the more expensive bunny style corkscrews as the ones I've bought break over time. On first use the metal warped and bent when trying to pull the cork out of the bottle. I'm a bartender and have used many of these in the past with no problems. This particular one was just crazy really cheap and didn't last long. Not at all happy with the purchase.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Pass this. in bar and wine tools

I have had several of these types of openers and prefer them to all others. However, THAT is sorely lacking. The pen is very small, I can hardly put three fingers in it (and my hands are not very big), the pens are also small, irregularly shaped and too thin. but it is an unpleasant experience and you will end up damaging the cork in the same way as the coiled one.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Expandable

Completely impractical to use, especially for women.

While the concept sounds good, the execution isn't great. Tried on a new bottle with the cork intact. First you need to insert your THUMB along the edge between the string and the neck of the bottle. You have to do this by making sure everything is straight and vertical! You have to use a LOT of strength. To get enough power, you might be tempted to hit it with your hand. Use too much force to bend your finger. Assuming you've got it down, it's time to insert your SECOND (shorter) finger into…

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only
