2018 CR-V EX Factory Stud Comparison

The nut on the right in the attached photos is a 2018 CR-V EX Honda works nut and the (higher) one on the left is a DP accessory nut. As you can see from the photos, the seat design is different. Factory nuts have a wider and rounder shoulder compared to DPA nuts, which are tapered and have a slightly narrower seat. So they screw on well and definitely tighten as you would expect, but I'm not sure they would fit as perfectly. The time will show.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Some small things

Saved the Ford Focus from certain death

Yes - nut splitting is real! OEM ring nuts are difficult to remove and cannot be reinstalled once removed. Without wheels, a car is pretty much useless and may have to be thrown away. My brother-in-law works for Ford and I told him that if he gave me a new Ford Ranger I wouldn't be joining the class action lawsuit, but I haven't received a response from him. The dealer even recommended NOT to bother with them as their nuts are too expensive and could fail again. These nuts saved the Focus from…

Better than OEM, needs updating!

I just installed it today. They're slightly larger, about 3/8 inch, so they stick out of the wheel a bit compared to the original recessed lugs: they look better, have a brighter chrome shine, and the fact that they stand out makes it easier for the key to fall The key is a good buy and hitting the target; thus reducing the possibility of scratches. If I trade or sell it, I return the OEM junk and keep it. I applied the same black anodizing to my son's black fusion. I highly recommend them…

One-piece nuts replace Ford two-piece fasteners

2013 Ford Fusion: For the price, it's a decent way to replace troublesome Ford two-piece nuts with a solid nut. To my knowledge these Ford nuts were used on various vehicles from around 2000 to 2015. They will go bad and give you a headache so replace them ASAP or you will have a flat tire one day and not be able to change a tire. Please note that Ford is not the only manufacturer using this design, however I cannot say if this particular series nut will fit these vehicles. For example, I…

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Dodgy

These nuts look very pretty. They are a one-piece construction, meaning they are all one piece. I bought these to replace the swivel nut. What's the difference, an integral type is just a single piece. or fixed. The cap design is a nut that looks more like a standard nut that is open at both ends but has a nice chrome cap at the top. The problem with this type of design is that over time dirt, corrosion, etc. can build up or get under this 'lid' and when it does the lid will sort of bulge out…

  • Absolutely amazing!
