All other pencil sharpeners I've heard are in our colored pencil group. sharpen twice as long. This thing is FAST. That's not bad for a battery sharpener. I took it to the shop for the day and didn't have to change the batteries. It also sharpens to a very sharp point. It is also very small, so it can easily be taken to seminars, clubs and on vacation. I've had the duet for about a year. I paint a lot for adults so this has many uses. (At least 15 or so are sharpened a day when I paint) It was great. I noticed last week that it just didn't sharpen my crayons as well as it should, or at least not as well when I first got it. So I pulled out one of those 50 cent two-hole hand sharpeners I keep in the office storeroom. I have a set of crayons that are too big for the duet and that's my only gripe.
